I often visit to museum once or twice in a month to check the latest happenings and to fulfill my car enthusiasm needs. Before couple of days I had a visit to see the first Arabian Super car “Lykan” of which I posted earlier, meeting one of the museum officials Mr. Zakariya Dashti – Director of Media Committee, I came to know some important facts about The Museum so thought of sharing with my readers.

The Kuwait Historical Vintage and Classic Cars Museum was established in October, 2010. The establishment of the Museum is vitally important, as it is time to show the world the rich cultural heritage and historical tradition of Kuwait especially in the historical automotive sector as Kuwait is considered the richest country in the world with that field. The main aim of establishing the museum is to documents all the automotive information and connect the current and future generation to their past and urges them to complete the journey of our great civilization.

The museum is the centre for car enthusiasts and owners as they get all the information that they need about the automotive world. It also offers many services to the community, like the technical sessions about a verity of automotive knowledge, and will also give advice and guidance to owners wanting to restore their valuable vehicles.

The museum houses many of the cars of historical, Vintage and Classic cars including a car for late Amir of Kuwait His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah which was an Imperial that he was using during his governance of Al-Ahmadi County, it also includes The Presidential Car of the late Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem AlSubah, which was a Lincoln, which was also the presidential car of the late Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem AlSubah. The museum also includes internationally known cars such as the Secret Agent – James Bond 007 Aston Martin DB5 car that he used in his movies, in addition to many of distinctive and historical cars.

The Museum also has a Library that has many books and references of all the different types of automotive and as well as magazines, books, periodical and Internet services.

The museum is open to the public from nine o'clock in the morning to one o'clock noon and then at five pm to eight o'clock pm, the museum is located in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area, Block One Street, forty nine street.

Back in the days we used to have a website about car lovers & enthusiasts called q8speed.com (our inspiration), I was checking through my archive folders and found a folder of q8speed's old gathering pics which I am going to share here. Remembering the old time, those AUK parking lot gatherings, Thursday night HARD ROCK meets, crazy spotters etc... I miss that time and I really want to gather all friends who were the part of q8speed, don't really know the owner but know most of the old members of it. If you were a member of q8speed and want to have a get together sometime soon please do reply :)Thanks!

It was an awesome night and amazing gathering after a long time, 15+ GTRs, 15 + EVOS & STis, countless Hondas of which mostly were s2000 & EK, Supras, Nissan Zs, infinity Gs  and not forgetting our very own Drifter Nasser Al Mutairi with his Toyota AE86.

There were many eye candies and moded JDMs but most beautiful of all cars according to us was white Subaru Impreza STi which is recently imported from Bahrain which we came to know after have a brief chat with the owner of Sti “Khaled Al Abdullah".

Start your engines and refresh your enthusiasm... time to get social again with all the local tuners and JDM lovers in specific.

February was the month of great car gatherings which include Drifting every Saturday by KMRC and we had an awesome JDM meet on 21st Feb, moreover a great gathering organized by GForceAutoWorks on 4th March between Euros and JDMs mainly between GTR'S and Porsche GT2/3's. I was inactive in past couple of weeks but hats-off to Hussain Thiyab AKA EVOSSAIN a true car enthusiast, photographer,  and a very dear friend of mine for taking active part in all gatherings, covering events and acting as a volunteer when needed. RateMyQ80Ride is all about car gatherings and meets for car enthusiasts, back in 2010 we decided to publish a calendar for year 2011 by gathering all car groups and publish them on one page each of the Calendar 2011, 70x50 cm Calendar faced lots of challenges to gather car groups as this never happened in any of ratemyq80ride’s gathering before.

Calendar 2011 was released on the last week of Jan 2011 due to some sponsor issues as only few agreed to sponsor the Calendar.

After having a general idea and experience of past gatherings we conducted gathering in September, 2011 for Calendar 2012 to cover the maximum groups keeping in mind the time span as we had some new groups to be published, sponsors this time were a bit more confident as they saw Calendar 2011 a big hit,  couple of new sponsors approached to be part of our Calendar 2012 which was released in the last week of December 2011.

Calendar 2013, expected lots from it but most of our gatherings got clashed with some major car events like Gulf Run Karting, muscle car show and some due to bad weather. The biggest failure was our super car gathering as only 3 cars showed up, it was funny and embarrassing at the same time as it was the most awaited & anticipated gathering of all times.

Release date of Calendar 2013 was first week of Jan 2013.

Special Thanks to Kuwait Performance Garage, Boosted Spirits, PWP performance, Apr Kuwait and Kuwait Choppers for participating every year as a sponsor.

Need your suggestion for Calendar 2014 as we are thinking to reduce the size to half and publish 2 Calendars instead.
